It’s important to take a break from restaurants, movie theaters, bars and the public in general when you are planing date ideas! It’s fun to go outside and get a breath of fresh air. The summer time is perfect for cheap and free things to do, especially if you live somewhere that has a great outdoor presence. 1. Hiking
Hiking is always a great way to release stress. There’s nothing more fulfilling than hiking a mountain and making it to the top. Take fun pictures and even bring some sandwiches or snacks to eat at the top. If you’re in an area that doesn’t have mountains or hills, go for a walk on a trail. Being in the woods and one with nature can always bring you closer to your date.
2. Swimming
Many cities or towns have free or very cheap public pools, or you can even go to a friends house. Find a lake or reservoir near you. If you have a dog, let the dog run around and swim. Also, it gives you a chance to see your date in a bathing suit! Maybe it will being the attraction to another level.
3. Beach
If you live on the east or the west coast, the beach is the perfect place for a date. Even reservoirs have cute little beaches to hang out at as well, for you land locked people. Bring some towels, beer and some food and soak up the sun.
4. Picnic
A fun way to get to know someone is having a picnic in a local park. Lay down a blanket, bring some fun outdoor games and lounge around in the park all day. Frisbee, a soccer ball or maybe a hula hoop! Not only is it sunny and relaxing, but it gives you a chance to get to know the person you’re dating while enjoying nature. A lot of parks also have grills, so bring some burgers and dogs and have yourself a barbecue!
5. Free Shows
This is more aimed for urban areas, but during summertime there are always free concerts outside. Many parks set up stages and local or cover bands will play. You can’t go wrong with free music, so why not check out someone new? This also gives you the opportunity to find out more about your dates music interests and maybe even dancing style!
